First i want to say thanks for your work and support with both simple thumb and simpel video. First I have updated the plugin in to support both flash and html now that jw player supports it via jwplayer. Sorry if this is redundant or you have already implemented this but I keep getting ipad users upset at me cause video wasnt working. I just replaced the SWObject code you had in the RES with the jwplayer.js code in the video-poster.php file. Also upgrade my LongTail to the version that supports flash and HTML5.

Please install Flash or us a browser that supports HTML5

So now the question. I want to use the Thumbnail i used in Simple Thumbnail to be the preview image for the player before the users hit play. I would think i would just place the “ID, ’180′, ’135′, ”); ?>” after the image but the p75GetThumbnail function does not exist in the php and i am not sure if gets imported ( sorry i dont fully know what gets imported from where in wordpress) Can a plugin import functions from other plugins so i can call this function from the Simple-thumbnail PHP and have the code from there points to the right thumbnail? Sorry if this doesnt makes sense i can explain more if it doesn.

simple post thumbnail use to much CPU.
does this plugin have a alternative plug or do I edit something on it?

I was wondering if there is a way to enable this on pages instead of just posts? I’ve added the code into the loop of a page template and I wanted to have a “featured” video on each page. Any help would be great!

I would be happy to put my question on the support forum, but since I did not buy a theme from your company I cannot get any support for a free wordpress plugin. I am using WPMU and i was able to use the Simple Post Thumbnail. The part that is not working for me is getting it to show on the front end. what is the code that needs to be put into the page for it to show on the front end?

I modified this plugin to include an options field to set which post types you want it to be included on (post [default], page, custom_post_type [e.g. video]) for wordpress 3.0

I also included Kathy’s modification from above as well.

James, I wasn’t sure how to get in contact with you so I’ll post here and hope for the best.

I’ve added some features to this plugin for a theme I created for ThemeGarden.com.

The two subtl features I’ve added are:

Added additional parameters to insert custom width and height in the template files. This allows me to set a desired size for different areas of the theme.
Automatically use the featured post thumbnail as the JW player thumbnail. This includes passing a variable to set it to a specific post thumbnail size if specified in functions.php

I ended up including this “built in” to the theme. Doing it this way, I was able to use the same options, but had to insert checks and balances to see if the actual plugin was activated and handle it from there.

My hope is that in the future these slight enhancements may be included into the plugin. I think they would be useful to theme developers along with adding a nice feature for the JW Player. Let me know if your interested and I can send you what I have.

hi there. love the plugin. for a while now i have been wanting to be able to control the size of the video in my template tag, but keep it proportional to the video sizes defined in the metabox or options. this way you can post the video at different sizes around the site….at one size on the index and another on the single post page. i’m not a paid press75 member so i couldnt post it there, but thought you might be inspired to add a similar functionality to any future updates.
