[...] James Lao writes about his WP Tag Manager: “One of the things that puzzled me about WordPress 2.3 is that it didn’t come with a tag manager. Then I realized they probably wanted to see what plugin developers would come up with first. Well, after looking around at some tag manager plugins, I decided to write my own.” When I installed WordPress 2.3 with the integrated tag I was looking for how to manage the tags. And I found none. So I search in Google and I found this plugin. It works for now but I hope it can be improved later. + 26 January 2008 • Tags: james lao, plugin, tag, WordPress, wp tag manager [...]

I get the tag manager menu, but it's giving me 'Invalid argument supplied in /wp-content/plugins/tagmanager/tag-manager.php for foreach() on line 78.'?

Doesn't work for me. When I try to Edit or Delete, I get a 404 error.

I think the problem is that $jtm_root is set to get_bloginfo('url') rather than Get_bloginfo('wpurl').

'url' works fine, provided that the Blog address is in the same directory as the WP installation. Mine isn't. My Blog address is the webroot, but WP is in a subdirectory.

Changing 'url' to 'wpurl' on lines 57 & 106 fixed this problem for me.

Hi,

This is something that really is missing in version 2.3.x of Wordpress. I think your plugin has great potential.

How about making the tags sortable on tagname? I think this makes managing tags easier when there are a lot of tags.

Regards,
EJ

Thanks for creating this. I couldn't understand why something like it wasn't put into the 2.3 release. Seems to be working well for me.

Thanks for this plugin James, I had mistakenly made a wrong tag for my sites blog and couldn't for the life of me work out how to delete/edit it, this plugin makes it all so simple. I'm very grateful there are clever people like you out there sharing these things so that less clever people like me can fix our mistakes!
