MIT - Day 2

The Freedom TrailToday was much more active I have to say. We walked along The Freedom Trail which winds through Boston past notable and historic landmarks. It was pretty interesting I guess. We went through a graveyard where Paul Revere is buried, one where Ben Franklin’s parents are buried, and yet another one where apparently the first woman to step off the Mayflower is buried although we never found her tombstone. We also took a ferry around the wharf. Here’s a picture of Boston I took from the ferry.

And here’s one taken of what appears to be a decommissioned battleship that we passed by.

Decommissioned Battleship

After the ferry ride we all headed back to MIT for the BBQ and skits. We didn’t have one ready so we had Parker introduce the entire InvenTeam and say something along the lines of “We don’t have a skit but it’s a metaphor for something greater.” It was pretty lame and they told us to make a new one for Thursday.

Parker, Luke, Sammi, and I went down to scope out the Stata Center where we’re doing the invention showcase. We got bored and started giving each piggy back rides all over the place; going up and down four flights of stairs with someone on your back is killer. We stopped by the store along the way back to Baker House (our dorms) and picked up a wiffle ball and bat along with a pack of ping pong balls. The rest of the night was just us messing around till around 12:30 playing wiffle ball, soccer, ping pong, and Texas Hold ‘em. Fun times. I’ll leave you with one last picture of the entire InvenTeam in front of the main MIT building.
